This test checks to see if the website is listed in various directory services.

Why do we test for this?

Ensuring a website is listed with correct information in relevant directories can assist with marketing. Having incorrect information or no information at all can make it difficult for people to find the organization, which negatively impacts any marketing efforts.

How do we test for this?

We search Facebook, Google+ Local and many more directories to detect if the organization is listed, comparing all results against known contact details and website address.

What can I do about it?

Create listings in all of the directories that show as missing. If the organization is listed in one of the below listings but we have not detected it:

• Make sure the website links to a Facebook page
• Make sure your information on each directory is updated and has the relevant fields filled (Website Links, Phone Numbers, etc).
• Each directory has the organization's primary web address listed and no alternative addresses.
